ACL Wireless bags 3 overseas instant messaging deals

New Delhi: ACL Wireless, a Delhi-based wireless instant messaging (WIM) applications company today said it has bagged contracts from three overseas cellular operators from Philipines, Thailand and Indonesia for which commercial deployment would be done in January.
"We are aleady in the final stage of beta testing of our ACL WIM software with AIS of Thailand, Digitel of Philipines and Excelcom, Indonesia which will be commercialy deployed next month", Sanjay Goyal, CEO, ACL Wireless, said here outlining the company's next application -- IM version 3.0.
In India, the company has five customers at present, AirTel, Escotel, RPG and Spice all for SMS, while with Idea, the deal is for MMS (multi media messaging) and it is in negotiations with BPL which has launched the country's first GPRS (Generally Packet Radio Services) in Mumbai.
ACL Wireless, which has a seed capital of $ 2 million from investors, is eyeing profitability in the next six months.
"We are at present handling 3-3.5 million messages and targeting cash profitability in the next six months", he said adding the company is planning to enter European region in January 2003.
ACL's instant messaging could be mobile to mobile, mobile to PC and PC to mobile. |
